WANHEARTNEWS.COM - A total of 13 people died after Mount Semeru erupted on Saturday (4/12).
This report was delivered directly by the Head of BNPB, Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, who this morning (Sunday, 5/12) visited Lumajang, East Java.
From the data submitted at 09.20 am, only two people were identified from the Kobokan and Kubuan clusters, Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency, East Java Province.
It was also reported that as many as 41 people who suffered injuries, especially burns, had received initial treatment at the Penanggal Health Center. Then they were referred to Haryoto Hospital and Bhayangkara Hospital.
Acting (Plt) Head of BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari explained that other injured residents were treated at several health facilities, namely 40 people being treated at Pasirian Health Center, 7 people at Candipuro Health Center, and 10 other people at Penanggal Health Center in Among them there are two pregnant women.
The joint team also succeeded in evacuating residents who were reported last night by the Lumajang Deputy Regent who were trapped in the mine owner's office. Currently the residents have been placed in the Kobokan Bulk Post for further treatment.
Information regarding the distribution of heat avalanches also affected two sub-districts, including Pronojiwo Sub-district in Pronojiwo Village, Oro-oro Ombo, Sumberurip, and Curah Kobokan Hamlet in Supiturang Village and Candipuro Sub-district in Kamarkajang Hamlet in Sumberwuluh Village and Sumbermujur Village.
In addition, eight sub-districts and several villages were affected by volcanic ash, including Ampelgading District in Argoyuwono Village, Tirtoyudo District in Purwodadi Village and Gadungsari Village, Pagelaran District in Clumprit Village, Wajak District in Bambang Village, Kepanjen District in Panggungrejo and Mojosari Villages.
Furthermore, Dampit Subdistrict in Dampit Village, Bantur Subdistrict in Bantur and Rejosari Villages, Turen Subdistrict in Talok Village,
The Lumajang Regency BPBD also reported that there were 902 displaced residents spread across several sub-districts.
305 people took refuge in several educational facilities and village halls in Pronojiwo District, 409 people in five village hall points in Candipuro District, and 188 people took refuge in four points consisting of houses of worship and village halls in Pasirian District..
